90cm (36″)

60cm (24″)

Sow on the surface of a tray of moist seed compost, do not cover the seed. Place inside a propagator or seal inside a clear polythene bag at 18-20°C until germination in 10-21 days. Do not exclude light. Transplant into individual 5cm cells or 7.5cm pots when large enough to handle, and grow on in cooler conditions. After all risk of frost, acclimate to outdoor conditions then plant 60cm (24″) apart.

Freebie with Garden Answers. I also have Antirrhinum Circus Clown sown, which is a smaller, more colourful snapdragon. Last year I bought a few snapdragon plants from our local nursery, Cochrane’s near longtown. They flowered well and for a long time, so I managed to harvest a lot of seeds from them. What I have noticed is that the germination rate of the harvested seeds is exceptional. I have a ridiculous amount of healthy seedlings, so will probably have to ‘kill my darlings’ when the time comes. I don’t have the room for this many snapdragons.
